How have you found living at UC?
Living at UC has been absolutely amazing, everyone is so friendly and easy to get along with. I’ve really benefitted from the convenient location of UC to Uni and also the city. It makes it so easy and it has made my transition from living in the country to the city much easier. I don’t think I would’ve gotten the most that I could out of Uni if I hadn’t been staying at a place like UC.
What academic advantages are provided at UC?
We have weekly tutorials for each subject (and tutorials at other colleges if not offered here) as well as access to Resident Tutors who are easy to talk to and always willing to help. We have access to a library which is open all day, everyday, as well as study rooms which are always available- making it really easy to find a place to study.
What social advantages are provided?
O-week plays a defining role in how people fit in when coming to college and UC did an awesome job at making sure everyone was happy and comfortable. On top of this, there are intercollegiate events, parties at college, sports and arts events, balls and much more– which are a lot of fun! The events every week or two make for many enjoyable moments and memories.
One thing I didn’t expect at college?
I would have to say that I didn’t expect it to be so easy to fit in and make new friends. I thought I’d make a few friends but I would comfortably say that I am friends with at least 80% of the people staying at college. Everyone is so friendly. People are always willing to chat or even just say hi in passing.
Describe the UC environment…
Extremely friendly and happy. To put it briefly, always welcoming.
What is your favourite UC event?
I loved being part of the team that won the footy grand final and the celebrations afterwards, as well as rowing day. But it’s so hard to pick out just one or two events from the year as all events at UC have been great.
Have you been involved in any leadership roles?
Not yet, but I have applied for Male Sports Representative so hopefully I get that! (Sam has since been elected as Sports Rep for 2016!).
If you could some up your UC experience in one word what would it be?
Is awesome too cliché?
