Careers Week at UC
Careers Week at UC
During the week commencing Monday 4 September, University College students welcomed College alumni from various industries to Careers Week to speak about life after university studies.
Over breakfast in the morning or supper during the evening, eight alumni have given their time to share stories about their own educational journey and career pathway with current students aspiring to those industries.
Wednesday evening will see a panel of five alumni discuss their studies, their careers and their experience of the transition between university and the workplace.
Alumni bring to Careers Week a diverse range of industry experience spanning engineering services, technology, architecture, communications, law, research and academia, business administration, psychology, sciences and medicine.
"I'm always interested in giving back to UC students where possible. I am currently undertaking a PhD in Environmental Science at the University of Melbourne. This is one pathway for budding scientists who are interested in research." Alex Norton (UC 2009)
UC alumni who are in a position to volunteer their time for the benefit of UC students are most welcome and encouraged to contact the Advancement Office at community@unicol.unimelb.edu.au or on +61 3 9349 9113.
The University College alumni community is a global network of over 5,600 alumni and over 240 students living in over 45 countries. Our alumni are now doing incredible things in all parts of the world, in many industries.
