Welcome to University College University College is a residential college affiliated with the University of Melbourne. Live in a community that feels like home and supports you as you study

UC is a residential college affiliated with the University of Melbourne but we also accept students studying at other Melbourne universities (including RMIT). During the academic year we are home to 340 students and are located right across the road from the UoM campus in Parkville, Victoria.

Our residential college offers you a safe and secure place to live with modern facilities, all-inclusive meals, networking opportunities and tutorial and wellbeing programs to strengthen your academic outcomes and support your health. Students living at UC describe our community as friendly and welcoming – with students supporting each other and numerous staff on hand to help you settle into life in Melbourne and university. It’s these differences that make it easy to forge new friendships and set residential colleges apart from other accommodation options.

You will have your own private student accommodation rooms, and there are various recreational spaces and communal areas in which to exercise, study or relax with mates. Our residential college offers a great lifestyle, with a large calendar of events to get involved in no matter what your interest. Try various sports, musical events, social events, take on a leadership role or learn something completely new. At UC it is all about having a go and supporting the team – that’s why our unofficial college slogan is love, passion and die hard spirit!

Student Accommodation & Residential College Melbourne

Visiting UC is the best way to get a genuine feel for college life.

There are lots of ways to visit; you can book a private tour with your family to look around the residential college on weekdays (subject to COVID restrictions) or attend our Open Day, which takes place in August each year. Of course not everyone has the opportunity to visit in person, so we have put together some virtual tours of the main college spaces, or you could ask to speak to one of our student ambassadors, who would be happy to chat to you about college life and why they chose to move to Melbourne and live at UC.

We understand it can be daunting choosing a residential college, but our advice would be to do your research and do it early. Each residential college has a different vibe and history, attracting different students as a result. So talk to family and friends and look for the college that is the best fit for your personality.
