How I met my college bestie

Some of the strongest and longest lasting friendships start in college. It’s always heart-warming to recall your first memory of meeting your college best friend and realise how far you have come. In order to highlight how simple it is to find great friends at college we have asked some current UC students to share the story of how they met their college bestie.

"Molly and I met through a mutual friend during our O-week. Our first memory was us instantly hitting it off at the UC Disco Party night that was hosted at the end of the week. We danced, made a TikTok together and just got along really well. The rest is history!"

"Cal and I first met during O-week during one of the 'turns 'Terns' out at the smoker’s bench. We started chatting and ended up bonding over my Aunt and Cal both being from Castlemaine. It was a true love story."

"Bella and I met on the first day of O-week in the Syme 2 corridor. She’s two doors down from my room, so it quickly became a friendship of convenience. But then she grew on me and we’ve been inseparable ever since."

"Tex and I didn’t meet until a random lunch time early into semester two through mutual friends, however he quick became one of my closest mates because of our many shared interests."

"Grace and I met in the Dining Hall, the first day she came out of isolation. She was so nice and approachable. We haven’t stopped sharing things since and have made some great memories together at college so far, with many more to come I’m sure!"
