Gifts in Wills allow University College to plan with confidence, invest in resources and, most importantly, invest in our students by awarding scholarships that make the University College experience more accessible to more students.
Some of the ways that your bequest may benefit the College:
- Funding scholarships to support students in acute financial need and who have demonstrated academic excellence. Gifted students, from rural areas in particular, dream of attending UC. Establishing a scholarship will help UC continue to give current and future students access to the UC experience to help make their university years the most memorable of their life while honoring the legacy of a life well lived in perpetuity.
- By helping us to meet the needs of 21st century students through investing in capital projects to provide world-class educational facilities and buildings.
We encourage all members of our community to join the 29 members of our Georgina Sweet Society and consider leaving a gift in your Will to the residential college. The Georgina Sweet Society has been established so that the residential college can say “thank you” to people who have included University College in their Will and have several activities each year both at the College and in the community.
Dr Georgina Sweet was one of the driving pioneers behind the establishment of University Women’s College. The College Bequest Program has been named after Georgina Sweet as in many ways, the College owes its existence to this determined and accomplished academic due to the considerable time, energy and resources that she invested into the College and its establishment.
