We know it isn’t always possible for interstate and international students to visit us in person, so we hope these virtual tours will give you a better feel for not only our rooms, but other key facilities around our campus.
New Rooms
We completed a major expansion of the College that was several years in the making. Our new Sweet and Roper wings (named after some of the founders of UC) were completed in 2019. These wings contain 183 modern student rooms featuring their own bathrooms, as well as a new Dining Hall (and kitchen), Senior Common Room, Junior Common Room, Seminar Centre and staff offices. The top level rooms also feature a loft, which can be used as a mezzanine lounge room area, or storage space. While each room is slightly different in configuration, they all come fully furnished – with a double bed, desk and chair, bedside table and lamp, sink and bathroom area. A selection of these new rooms can be viewed below.
Heritage Rooms
Our heritage rooms are those contained in the original wings of the College – opened in 1937. Many students love the character of these rooms, which all feature high ceilings, big bright windows and also come fully furnished. Radiators are provided for heating, with a fan for those warmer days. A small selection of these rooms feature air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms, but these are usually reserved for resident tutors or second or third year students. No one shares a room at UC – so it will be your own space to personalise. You will be randomly allocated a room in your first year on a first come, first served basis. Once you’re at college, there are various ways to upgrade your room via a room points system.

Graduate Apartments
Although most UC residents are undergraduates, we also welcome graduate students.
Graduate accommodation is more akin to having your own apartment – with a separate lounge area, full sized bathroom, kitchen and communal laundry facilities. Our resident tutors also live in these larger spaces, as they are usually graduates studying a masters or PHD. All meals are still included, but the kitchen gives you the option to cook for yourself if you wish.
We also have academic apartments – used by visiting guests or academics.
Shared Spaces
There are communal facilities within all corridors of the College. In both the heritage and new wings you will find shared laundry and kitchen facilities. The heritage wings also contain shared bathrooms facilities – which each contain several showers and toilets and are generally used by six to ten students.

Around the College
There are numerous other facilities around the College where students can spend their time – including tutorial rooms, a library, gym, recreation areas (such as the Senior and Junior Common Rooms) and of course the social hub of UC – the Dining Hall. You might also like to visit our homepage for a video tour led by one of our students.
Speak to a Student Ambassador
