Peter is a distinguished immunologist, researcher, Nobel Laureate, Companion of the Order of Australia, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, Fellow of the Royal Society of London, and has won many prestigious international awards for research in medical science. Peter is the namesake and patron of the Doherty Institute in Melbourne.
