Art, Music and Design Week 2025
Art, Music and Design Week at University College is an annual celebration of creativity, talent, and artistic expression within our student community.
The event provides a platform for students to present their work across three distinct categories—art, music, and design—highlighting the breadth of talent at the College. Participants have the opportunity to compete for prizes awarded in each category, with entries assessed on creativity, originality, and technical merit.
Art, Music and Design Week is a valued tradition that fosters cultural engagement and encourages the exploration of diverse creative practices.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our talented UCers who contributed their amazing works to the exhibition and a huge congratulations to all of this year's winners! Sincere thanks, as always, to the Youth Music Foundation and UC Governor and Fellow Dr. Di Bresciani OAM, whose generous support makes this incredible competition possible.

A synopsis by Sam the creator: "This work was inspired by and utilizes the ‘hermit crab’ writing technique, the form I commandeered being a Tarot card interpretation guide. It plays on my unrealistic desire for constant guidance and advice in my life by entertaining the idea of a Tarot deck, something often used for guidance, that is fully personalised, containing playfully cheesy yet sincere instructions and ruminations on various parts of my current experience. I appropriated the accepted meanings of the ‘Major Arcana’ section of the Rider-Waite Tarot cards so that they spoke directly about my own life from a perspective that is not vague or generalised."
UC People's Choice Award - Hamish Brown - EcoShades
